Applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement of Junior Mentor for Innovation Hub at Regional Science Centre, Calicut on contract basis for a period of one year.

Junior Mentor -  02 Nos (Remuneration Rs. 25000/ Per month consolidated)

Qualification & Experience: - Should have minimum PG degree in Science/ Bachelor degree in Engineering with good aptitude for hands on activities and good experimental skills, passion for conducting investigative/innovative projects /model making/design activities/experimentation etc.

The last date for receipt of application on plain paper along with credentials is 25.01.2018.  

Applicant has to submit hard copy of the application on plain paper along with their recent CV, passport size colour photograph, self attested copies of their certificates and marksheets and documents supporting their claim for experience in industry/ lab. Application submitted by E- mail will be rejected.

Original documents will be verified for those candidates who has qualified in the screening round and called for the selection process.

Advertisement Details:

Duration: ONE YEAR

Schedule & Timings: The selected candidate has to work on week days including Saturdays & Sundays as well as on all government holidays and school / college vacations. One day weekly off will be allowed through mutual aggreement. Timing will be fixed such that the mentors are avaliable during the period Innovation Hub members carry out their projects.

Holidays: No CL/ EL/ RH are applicable with this engagement. 

Scope of Work:

The following list provides guidelines for the scope of work but are not limited to it.

> Mentor should be able to assist the Incharge officer  in conceptualising an monthly /yearly action paln regarding the braod activities to be organised in the Innovation Hub month wise and monitor the target & achievement.

> The mentor should be able to design/ identify practically feasible & implementable innovative/ investigatiry projects to the members of the Innovation Hub.

> The mentor should assist the Innovation Hub members during the entire cycle of the project thereby mentoring & monitoring undertaken by him/ her and there by guide him/ her to draft a detailed investigatory report of the project undertaken by him/ her.

> Mentor should assist members in maintaining a online blog detailing in a systematic way and documenting the procedure, methodology of the activities done by them.

> Mentor should be able to demonstrate experiments to the members using the equipments/ apparatus avaliable in the innation hub

> Manage the day to day activities of the innovation hub and also should be able to attend the minor defects in the apparatus of the Innovation Hub.

> Assist in preparation of detailed descriptive monthly activity reports  regarding the activities of the Innovation hub with photographs and submit it to the incharge officer of the Innnovation Hub.

> Mentor should monitor & prepare the progress report of the activities of the Innovation Hub.

> Coordinating with other institutions/ labs/ industries for conducting experiment/ exposure visits/ organising innovation fairs & festivals

> Undertake brainstorming & ideation sessions with innovation hub members

> Coordination & assistance for IPR related activities

> Assistance in upgrading existing facilities, purchasie of specialised equipments required for performing the activities of the Innovation Hub.

> Actively plan & engage towards organising and conducting exposure sessions for school & college students visitng the Centre.

> Show high enthusiasm in increasing the member base ofthe Innovation Hub and assist in all short of publicity works.

> Should be vigilant in any member spoiling/ damaging any facility or equipment of the Innovation Hub

> Maintain attendance log of the members visiting the hub.

> Update the FB page of the Innovation Hub on regular basis.
